This committee focuses on emergency management practitioner issues and practical application of emergency management at higher education institutions. The Higher Education Committee has identified three primary areas of concentration:

1. College/University Emergency Management Degree Programs – Evaluation and enhancement of academic programs which prepare college graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful emergency managers.

2. FEPA Student Programs – Evaluation, enhancement, or development of student internship programs which provide opportunities for students to participate in higher education, municipal, county, state, federal emergency management program areas.

3. College/University Emergency Management Offices – Analysis, enhancement, and standardization of higher education emergency management practitioner programs.
