Who We Are

Since 1956, the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association (FEPA) has been the home for Florida’s emergency management professionals. What began as a small group of leaders sharing best practices has grown into a statewide network dedicated to protecting and strengthening our communities.

We are more than an association; we are the FEPA Family. Our members represent every level of emergency management: local, county, state, tribal, federal, volunteer, nonprofit, and private sector partners. Together, we share knowledge, support one another, and build connections that last well beyond the next storm or disaster.

Our Mission

The mission of the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association is to provide an educational network between emergency managers and their partners at the federal, state, county, municipal, tribal, volunteer, and private industry level, on critical emergency management issues.

Our Strategic Direction

FEPA’s 2024–2025 Strategic Plan is our roadmap for the future. Our Strategic Plan serves as a guide that ensures we continue to grow, serve, and support Florida’s emergency management community.

Our priorities include:

• Connection & Engagement – Provide a dynamic forum for members to share ideas, best practices, and lessons learned.
• Member Support & Growth – Strengthen engagement from students to seasoned leaders while expanding FEPA’s identity and reach.
• Training & Professional Development – Expand FEPA training opportunities and academies with new subject-matter offerings.
• Policy & Advocacy – Identify legislative priorities, provide tools to help members engage with elected leaders, and strengthen partnerships with state agencies and associations.
