The 2025 FEPA Emergency Management Academy will be hosted at the Manatee County EOC from Saturday, March 29 at 1PM (Eastern) to Friday, April 4 at 11AM (Eastern) in Bradenton, Florida. This seven-day intensive training program is designed for new emergency management professions with five or fewer years in the industry.

The Academy is a practitioner-based training that includes instruction on emergency management fundamentals and best practices. Designed to mimic a real-world activations, students will have the opportunity to participate in a week-long simulated exercise, combined with information instruction from the industry's leading professionals. A team of experienced cadre and previous graduates from the program will serve as mentors for the students throughout the week.

In addition to receiving 24 hours of certification credits towards the five mission areas (prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery), the Academy curriculum can be used as exercise credit towards EMPG requirements.

Prerequisite courses required for the academy include:

  • IS-100 C. Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS 100

  • IS-200 C. Basic Incident  Command System for Initial Response

  • IS-700 B. An Introduction to the National Incident Command System (NIMS)

  • IS-800 D. National  Response Framework An Introduction

  • IS-2200: Basic Emergency Operation Center Operations Functions

  • Professional Development Series (IS 120.C, 230.E, 235.C, 240.C, 242.C, & 244.B)

Cost for FEPA members is $350/person; $450/person for non-FEPA members (cost includes membership for the Association).

The FEPA WebEOC Working Group is excited to share that we are accepting registrations for the 2024 FEPA WebEOC Workshop, and also sharing a training opportunity for WebEOC administrators in the leadup to the Workshop.

Join us as we continue FEPA's momemtum and quality conversations!  Our 2024 Annual Meeting was a tremendous success thanks to our generous sponsors and engaged participants. The Mid-Year Meeting provides opportunities for our Committees and Working Groups to meet face-to-face to further develop their programs and projects and receive member input to move forward. Mid-Year General Sessions feature discussions on “emerging issues” for the EM Community to help our membership and premier emergency management leaders focus on and contribute to the future of our profession.
