FEPA 2021 Mid-Year Meeting
August 4-6, 2021
Crystal River, Florida
This in-person event will be conducted in accordance with all current CDC guidance and protocols.
Training sessions scheduled for Monday and Tuesday are at capacity as well as the Crystal River Nuclear Power Plant tour scheduled for Wednesday morning August 4, 2021. An option to tour the Citrus County EOC on Wednesday morning from 9:00 am to 10:30 am has been added. Transportation to the tour will not be provided and is on your own.
The FEPA Board of Directors will meet Wednesday morning from 10:30 am to Noon.
The formal Mid-Year Program begins at 1:30 pm Wednesday and will conclude on Friday by Noon. Due to the number of discussion topics, all sessions will be conducted in General Session with an open “town forum” format. The schedule includes a series of proposed topics and the conversation will move from topic to topic.
The FEPA Hotel Room Block at the Plantation on Crystal River is full – please call the hotel directly at (800) 632-6262 for information on available rooms and rates. Please DO NOT cancel an existing room reservation as it will not be returned to the FEPA block. FEPA 2021 Annual Meeting and Work Session (Virtual)
The FEPA Board of Directors has made the very difficult, but appropriate, decision to cancel the virtual Annual Meeting and Work Session scheduled for February 1-5, 2021 given the current demands of the emergency management community for COVID response. All sectors of FEPA’s membership remain actively engaged in sustaining COVID testing and community mitigation measures and are now critical components of a successful statewide vaccination initiative. As these activities will continue for the foreseeable future and are clearly the appropriate focus for our members and the agencies and organizations they serve.
Participants who have pre-registered and submitted payment will receive a full refund.
A virtual FEPA Membership Meeting is scheduled for Friday February 5, 2021 from Noon-1:30 pm (Eastern) to conduct required Association business. Business items will include the swearing in of the 2021 Elected Officers and Area Governors; recognition of the FEPA Certification Class of 2021 and 2021 Award recipients; as well as, time permitting, a discussion of the current status of FEPA and the Florida emergency management community as we prepare for 2021 Association project priorities. This session will be open to all current FEPA members at no charge and members will receive information soon with specific participant access information. Please make sure to have renewed your FEPA dues for 2021 to be able to participate and to continue to receive member benefits and access to Association programs and projects through the year.
2021 FEPA Mentorship Program
The FEPA Mentorship Program supports FEPA’s strategic goal to advance the professional development and career enhancement of the members through the exchange of ideas, development and provision of training, education, and promotion of professional standards through the growth of current and new members by experienced mentors.

2020 FEPA Intern Day (Virtual Event)
The FEPA Careers and Internships in Emergency Management event is a virtual event designed to provide students an opportunity to learn about emergency management from leaders within our field.
Participating students will have the opportunity to:
Hear from a multi-disciplinary panel of emergency management leaders focused on providing students feedback to pursue a career in this field: personal experiences, professional development, best practices and lessons learned.
Network with emergency management professionals and other aspiring emergency management students.
Learn the benefits of joining the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association.
